Ah, yes, well you could look at it like that. It was an honest mistake on our part, as explained below, and since it took over a year for someone to point this out to us, we can do little now to rectify the situation given the amount of downloads and sharing the post has seen. Short of pulling the set from our site, which we have done. But sure, go ahead and call us thieves for this mistake. It’s all your prerogative. Just depends on how big an asshat you want to be. I’m going with big asshat, but that’s just the impression I get from your tone. I guess we all have our own reactions, huh?

Why did you use Twitterrific’s icon in your icon set? That’s not Twitter’s icon, it’s the icon for the most popular mac Twitter client (the 3d blue bird). The icon factory (makers of Twitterrific) created that icon.
That was a mistake made over a year ago, that we didn’t catch and no one pointed out. We feel bad about it having gotten through, especially given how much the set was shared around. We never intended to copy anyone’s design, it was an honest mistake. We believed it to be an official Twitter icon, and as a result, we included it in the set. :( This has been corrected with the new set, but we know that the damage has already been done, and again, feel horrible about it. Thanks for pointing this out to us, we really wish someone had said something a year ago when the set was originally released.
