So while scouring the web and browsing the graphical wonders it so whimsically offers, we are constantly seeing some amazing and inspirational work. And occasionally, just occasionally, we come across those works that jump-start a sense of jealousy within us. The grand designs that grab hold of our senses and make them scream pleasurable tones at being graced with such an ever-crafty creation. Graphic design is a community rife with examples like these, but very rarely does a logo strike out from the sea of designs saying, “Behold! I am the pinnacle of branding excellence, bow down before me in awe!” But there is one such logo that we have admired for a while for it’s sheer imaginative ingenuity. It’s the logo of Jacob Cass’ Just Creative Design.
The logo is a stroke of pure genius, that admittedly, we didn’t quite get at first. Not to say that we disliked it, but we overlooked the most creative bit about it. It wasn’t until we had seen it around for a month or so that we actually took note of the fact that the pencil is broken into the initials of the site, not to mention, of Jacob himself. At that moment, it was suddenly as if the sky had opened up and a brilliant beam of light shone down on the screen highlighting the logo, as choirs of angels sang soft celestial phrases of praise. So simple, and yet, so classically clever. Ever since that moment of discovery, it’s hard not to delay, admiring the design each time we cross paths.
Admittedly, this little gem is the first logo that has created a sense of regret in us. Regret that we had not been it’s creators. And, honestly, it’s the first time a design has made me a little jealous that my initials aren’t JC. Really Brilliant Design, or Rich Beautiful Design sounds too arrogant, and those are the only relevant RB combos I could think of that would fit. But Just Creative Design, is simple, snazzy and doesn’t sound like an ego swollen explanation of the work. Just compact. Just direct. Just …creative! Kudos to Cass.

Expected a bit more from the title. And i don’t know, but this post proves that everybody has a different kind of taste — i guess.
@ Thomas — You’re right! We all do have different tastes. That’s what makes the community as dynamic as it is, rather than a repetitious bore.
Though, about the title…what did you expect from JUST such a CREATIVE logo, except Just Creative’s logo. :p
Thanks Robert for the kind write up about my logo! For those who missed it, I also wrote about the whole design process in an article of mine.
Really Beautiful Design has a nice ring to to :P
@ Jacob, not a problem. As you might have gathered, I’m a fan! :D
It does have a nice ring to it, doesn’t it? Though, I’d fail to live up to the title I’m afraid. Words are more my forte.:)
Wow.. not until I read this article did I realise that. I thought it was an alright logo, but now, as you said it’s like the heavens opened up! Sheer brilliance Jacob!
