Learning Curve - The Guide to Healthy Living Goes ACD
And that’s a wrap! ACD’s first official job has been completed, and we proudly present the website designed for the Pike’s Peak Area Guide to Healthy Living. It was more than a rewarding experience, it was a learning one as well. Like we learned to never, ever accept a job with a large scale directory without fully understanding the full scope of the directory…especially, for a flat fee. Oh yes, 270 pages, on a nominal fixed rate. Did it hurt? There is a certain rawness, but the swellings mostly gone down. Kidding….kinda.
There was so much else that was learned as job progressed. Lots of resources and building tools that helped expedite the tedious processes. So it was definitely worth it in the end. It’s built completely with validating xhtml/css code. The only obstacle standing in the way of the code passing strict validation is the absence of a paypal button that will meet the requirements. But we aren’t done tweaking yet, and we figure it’s only a matter of time before we get this sorted.
Not that validation is the most important thing, but since this is the first official Arbent Creative Designs website, we want it to pass with flying colors. Besides, the code knows that an A+ gets him soy cream!
