Weekly Web of Inspiration : Nintendo Game Art

The Arbenting Weekly Web of Inspiration strikes again! (Well it will have by the time you are reading this at least, so that’s declaratively accurate.) While scouring the web this week in search of an inspirational theme for the article, we happened across some wonderfully playful images that took the post and ran with it in an interestingly geek chic sort of way. Being somewhat of gamers ourselves, minus all the negative connotations that tend to get attached to the title, we felt this post’s time had arrived.

Now with the massive culture that has exploded around gaming, fan art based on favorite games and characters have also become more commonplace additions among the digital landscape. So in this installment we present a look at the fan art that has arisen from the Nintendo gaming console’s inspiring heroes and heroines! We humbly hope you enjoy the Weekly Web of Inspiration — Nintendo Game Art edition.

Other Nintendo Game Art

Thanks for taking time to get your gamer-geek on in this post, and let us know if you have any favorite Nintendo game themed art that you enjoy that we have left off. (Oh and by the way, we understand that one piece features the game Dig-Dug. Which while not originally released by or for the Nintendo gaming system, it has been released by Namco for the Nintendo and that’s how we dig our dugs around here! So step off!)

These images are amazing and very funny too. I love the whimsical nature of them. If artist in the middle ages used the Bible for the source of their art, this must be the modern incarnation of that. It follows in the same vein as SHAG and his cohorts in the lowbrow art movement. Thank you of sharing these great images.

What a stunning collection of images. It makes a change from the common Photoshoped digital imagery I see often nowadays. Thanks for sharing…
